Real nice food
I was here once before three years ago and enjoyed it. I was glad to see they survived the pandemic. They did have to reduce the size of the dining room to divide up the building to rent out to other businesses, but they are still going strong. The decor is beautiful with artisan metalwork and traditional paintings of Mexican scenes. The menu offers several kinds of delicious Mexican food, but I recommend the "comida corrida" special where you can have your choice of a soup (a medium sized bowl) plus either a chile relleno or guiso of the day, and an agua fresca. I chose the caldo Tlalpeño and chile relleno (choice of cheese, meat or mixed). The servings were generous and quite delicious. They also provided chips and salsa as well as freshly made corn tortillas to accompany the meal. All that for $165 pesos. The guiso of the day was picadillo or mole. Other soups to choose from included caldo de res (beef vegetable) or sopa de fideo (angel hair pasta). The atmosphere is elegant and traditional Mexican, family-friendly, and the service was very good. My only complaint was that the TV on the wall above us was too loud. When we asked them to lower the volume, they did. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it.
